The thing that changed my mind about the whole experience: the good engines don’t dump one giant paragraph on you per reply. They fire off several short messages in a row, the way a real person texts. It’s a small detail that makes the conversation feel far less robotic than most of these sites.
Building Your Own Partner
There’s a dedicated Create Partner section and it’s more open than most. Every field is freeform text, not just preset menus– appearance (gender, style, age, ethnicity, skin tone, hair, eyes, body, voice) and then the personality side: bio, personality, the relationship dynamic, work, hobbies, kinks, even how the first message opens. You describe what you want in plain language and it builds to that, then keeps it consistent. Once the partner exists you also get Memory Notes that carry your shared history across sessions, so you’re not reintroducing yourself every time. And there’s no cap – you can create as many partners as you want, for free.
Video, Voice and Proactive Messages
Video generation is the newer piece and worth flagging, because most AI companion sites still don’t do video at all. The other standout is proactive messaging: switch it on and the partner reaches out on its own, a surprise text, an image, a voice note – instead of only replying when you open the app.
